First Timer's League Weekly Recap GreenJacket Is Back In The Winner's Circle!   Sunday was a good day for GreenJacket as he teed off with only a glimor of hope for capturing the Charles Schwab title. He knew his boys still had some golf yet to play but an unlikely hero would emerge from his squad that he had not anticipated.    GreenJacket started Charley Hoffman in Rnd 1 but went fishing  in Rnd 2 by sending Hoffman to the bench and Reed into the fray. This was the wrong move and it cost him dearly - missing precious points from Hoffman who had the low round of the day. Barely making it past the cut with a full roster he had no choice but to put Hoffman back into the action and this would get him back on track.    During Sunday's final round GreenJacket finally synced up with Hoffman and he capitalized on his low round of the day with a plethora of points to push him into the lead. He jumped past multiple teams into 1st and stayed strong to take down his first victory of the 2021 season.    "It's been a tough year on the whole" said GreenJacket - "thousands of hours spent trying to find that perfect squad but I wasn't able to show much for it. But this one... I'm sorry [tears welling up], it just feels good to get back here." This 2nd place finish remarkably is his 3rd runner up, 2nd Top 3 in a row and 5th Top 3 of the season. ByeBye Birdie continued her hot hand in Fort Worth with her 6th Top 10 of the segment (T1 in spring Top 10s). She had designs on her first win but Justin Rose let her down on Sunday. Sugar Hill played the first 18 weeks of the season with 3 Top 10s and he's played the last two (Week 19 & 20) with back to back 4th place finishes. Has he discovered something in his fantasy game that has given him new life?  Gophers is staying true to his brand by contending for league leader in season Top 10s by collecting his 10th overall (T2). Although out of the spring segment running you can be sure he'll contend for the summer segment. Roll Up's journey up the leaderboard has been harrowing. Climbing as high as 5th early on he fell from grace and landed in 20th by week 10. Since then he's gained ground every single week and now finds himself back inside the Top 10 for the first time and in 8th place on the back of his 9th Top 10. One-Iron got his is 4th Top 10 of the season and 3rd of the spring segment. While it's not been a headliner type segment it's certainly an improvement over the winter. The trend line is for One-Iron to peak by mid summer.  Halve Ouimet has been doing everything right. He leads the league in Top 10s (11), points from driving (898), and is 1st overall. He maintains a 300+ point lead over his nearest foe and just needs to avoid a blow up week to keep up his pace. Niblick18 is having his hottest stretch of the season over the past 4 weeks - carding a win and 3 Top 10s. He's also just 1-of-3 teams who's got a win in each both segments so far. This was his 6th Top 10. Grandpa Levs was having a jolly season up through week 12 when he was in 9th but it's been rough going since then (falling to 22nd currently). This 10th place finish is his 6th overall.  Kings Deer had a rough week but has points to burn in his pursuit of his 3rd career segment championship. His spring has been hot as he's accumulated 6 Top 10s, 3 Top 3s and 2 wins. Clearly he's earned his 1st place position. Going4theGreensboro chipped away at his defecit by a few points but baring some unforseen shakeup of epic proportions it looks like he'll fall short of the spring title. It was a much better segment for him than the winter though as he doubled his pace in Top 10s and 3s. He's still looking for that maiden victory though. ByeBye Birdie held her ground in the segment standings but gained ground on the back of a solid Top 3 finish last week. Her season standing has been bolstered significantly by her hot hand this segment as she's collected 6 Top 10s (7 season) and 2 Top 3s (2 season). Her first win of 2021 can't be that far off. STAT OF THE WEEK   It's a battle to maintain position over the course of a 36 week season and some have done better than most when it comes to holding down a spot inside the top 10. Wether you've been inside the 10 most of the season or been ousted a couple times only to get back in, here's a ranking of teams who've had at least one week inside the overall top 10.   THIS WEEK is perhaps the most important non-major, non-WGC, non FedexCup Playoff event on the calendar. This week the boys head over to Jack's Place.    Muirfield Village is the course and Jack has been tinkering with it for most of his career as a course designer. Last year, following the final group playing through on Sunday, the grounds crew started dismantling the course to be renovated. And one year later the uplift is complete and ready for play.   Kings Deer is the defending champ this week and it would only be fitting for him to successfully defend his title enroute to his nearly-assured Spring Segment Championship title.
