First Timer's League Weekly Recap Kings Deer Makes Strong Case For Spring Title In a convincing victory at the Byron Nelson Kings Deer is looking to be in top form as he sprints towards the spring segment title. As a follow up performance to his 2nd place finish the prior week a the Wells Fargo, Kings did the one thing to best that performance by taking down the win the following week. He now has 6 Top 10s, 4 Top 3s and 2 wins.   He'll need to hold off his lone competitor within striking distance at ~160 points back and with 4 weeks to go he can't get lazy. An incomplete roster from a missed cut could prove disaterous. But he's been here before and knows how to close out a segment.  Follow FirstTimersLeague on Instagram Follow TOP 10 FINISH DaHoffa adds just his 5th Top 10 of the season (T17) but also his 3rd Top 3 (T3) Vegas Vito now has 2 Top 3s on the season - both coming at an AT&T sponsored event (Pebble Beach & Byron Nelson) Roll Up snagged his 3rd Top 10 in 4 weeks and is moving up the segment leaderboard (inside the Top 10 now) Going4theGreensboro got his second consecutive Top 10 (8th overall) but will need multiple Top 3s in the final 4 weeks to catch Kings for the segment title Reed's Rule Book is battling to regain lost ground and his 9th Top 10 of the year (T2) is a step in the right direction Bmerk is anxious to get back inside the season Top 5 where he was last seen as of week 14 and his 9th Top 10 will aid him in that pursuit Halve Ouimet is all about Top 10s now as he looks to maintain his season lead - taking down his 9th of the season last week 617 to 616 hadn't been spotted inside the Top 10 since the Florida Swing in week 11 so his 9th place finish was a welcome site for fans DontHasseltheHoff also took some time off from Top 10 appearances as this marks his first in 5 weeks - a noticeable cool down from his blazing hot winter segment Kings Deer increased his lead by over the field by 42 points and is looking good for his second career segment title  Smooth Greens hit a rough patch and dropped 4 spots after a battered roster following the cut Roll Up enters the Top 10 after a strong finish at TPC Craig Ranch Going4theGreensboro looks to be the only one who could reasonably catch Kings for the segment title but will need to make up ~40 points per week over the next 4 weeks to overtake him Halve Ouimet increased his season lead by ~70 points Not much movement overall as only 5 teams traded positions by a single spot up or down Reed's Rule Book is clawing back lost ground after losing 2nd place a couple week's back Some separation is occuring between 5th and 6th as the gap widened from ~25 to ~50 points 76 points separates 6th from 10th while 258 points separates 1st from 5th This week Grippin&Rippin will look to become just the 5th player this year to keep his position inside the Top 5 for 5 consecutive weeks (Halve Ouimet, Smooth Greens, Reed's Rule Book & Bmerk are the others) Week 19: PGA Championship   The season's 2nd major championship rolls into town as the PGA Championship will be contested by the game's elite as defending champ Grandpa Levs looks to hoist the Wannamaker Trophy once again. Strategy will be tested as the torunament venue - Kiawah Island's Ocean Course - will make driving accuracy a premium and long drive points harder to find.  With a major tournament comes a major payout - $65 awaits the eventual champ and will surely boost them into the top tier of earners this year (if they're already not there). Set aside some solid viewing time for this one as the course alone will be worth the viewership.    The cut line could once again prove to be pernicious so make sure you've got the right squad to weather the storm.
