With the close of the RBC Canadian Open the Spring Segment came to an end on Sunday and two winners were crowned. Historically speaking this time of the year is when fortunes are made and lost. Either you make your move in the heat of the season or you fade away. And for a few the next few weeks will tell the tale.
In a show of force last week Whiny Little Pitch marched her troops north of the border and began to lay waste to her combatants, taking no prisoners in the process. She trounced her competition by nearly 50 points and took home her second title of 2019, moving her total earnings to $30. In her last 7 events she's carded 4 Top 3s and 2 wins. Clearly she's heating up for the summer months.
On Sunday we witnessed a milestone moment and a league first as Gophers became the first ever fantasy golfer in the First Timers League to win back-to-back segment titles. He had to fight off Talkeetna98 in order to complete the feat but with Rory's incredible week he pulled it off in style. He's showing signs of Tiger in his heyday as he marches through 2019 in total control. He's the front runner for the season by just under 400 points with one segment to go. And if winning back-to-back segments was not enough he now has the chance to run the table if he were to win the summer segment. History awaits.
With the close of the spring segment we're now 11 weeks away from the finish line. A new segment awaits and it's anybody's for the taking. The starts cap is reset and everyone is equal once again. Ladies and gentleman, start your engines for the final segment of 2019 and the final leg of the Race for the Jackson Cup.
