Roll Up Rolls At Honda Classic

 

Week #11 proved to be a big one for 2nd year veteran Roll Up as he captured just the second win of his career. In a post round interview Roll Up told the fantasy media "It's been a tough stretch between wins, I had some ups and do........... sorry, pretty emotional. I just worked really hard in the draft room and it's finally paid off." 

This one was close. Up until the final putt it looked like this one might go another way. Roll Up was in chase mode as the day started and it looked like Reed's might have him before the FedexCup bonus points were tallied. But in the final analysis Roll Up prevailed by a narrow margin of only 8 points. It was the battle of the Top 3-less as both Reed's and Roll Up had not collected a Top 3s before The Honda Classic. They both have one now but Roll Up has the cash. He's now got about half his bankroll from 2020 with $25 in hand ($45 earned in 2020).

SEGMENT UPDATE

After two weeks of play in the new segment we see some teams trying to cement themselves inside the Top 10. Kings Deer seems determined to have a better degment than winter afforded him but Holly, Niblick, Eagles and Reed's are all in hot pursuit. Expect the race to shape up even more after this week.

EARNINGS UPDATE

As Roll Up adds his name to the earnings board we're starting to see some crowding towards the top. Will someone break away from the pack, perhaps with a win at the upcoming Masters? Time will tell.

STAT OF THE WEEK

As teams collecte Top 10s it's apparent that some have the ability to keep the gap between them and the winner close while others have a tendency to let it get a little out of reach. These are the top teams so far this season in Points Gained: Proximity to First when finishing inside the top 10 (must have a minimum of 2 Top 10s).

The Corales Puntacana is one of the most interesting events on fantasy tour as it gives folks a chance to take some chances without the feeling of missing out. All the big guns are in Austin, TX for the Dell Matchplay Championship so we're left with the ones who didn't qualify, i.e. the rejects. But there's plenty of talent out there - you just have to find it. And don't trust the PGA Tour Power Rankings too much - they are highly speculative. And be sure to fill out your bracket for some extra competition.
