Rookie Couch Seat Driver pulled into second place for his first Top 3 finish and 3rd Top 10. Vegas Vito and rookie Oh Geez tied for 3rd which is the first Top 3 for both. Vegas played spoiler to the first attempted all-rookie top 3 finish which is not a common occurrence in the slightest. Reed's, GreenJacket, Nick Hoffman and Kikakee collected just their second Top 10 of the season while Smooth Greens and Gophers both made it 3 Top 10s on the year.

SEGMENT UPDATE
We're entering the home stretch for the winter segment and have only 3 weeks to go. For Halve Ouimet he's got a challenge upcoming as he'll need to hold off a strong field with only a narrow buffer. Several veterans are nipping at his heels while a couple rookies are also in the mix but farther back. Vegas Vito was a big mover last week with his 3rd place finish as he jumped from 9th to 2nd. Reed's Rule Book followed suit and jumped from 11th to 4th and now finds himself squarely in the mix. Bmerk had the biggest jump though with his first career victory as he took home the $25 paycheck and jumped from 17th to 6th in one fell swoop. Strategy is now essential as key starts are used up and no point is too precious to be left unattended.

TIP OF THE WEEK
To chase or not to chase, that is the question
The substitution option is perhaps the key differentiator in this league that can make or break a team's fortunes. The decision to "chase a round" is an excellent way to gain ground on the field but has inherent risks. Think of it like the stock market. Golfers tend to ebb and flow throughout a tournament and so a bit of guesswork is involved. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
There are some key signposts to take note of if you are going to sub. It's difficult for a golfer to have two really low rounds back-to-back so be careful of expecting something great from a guy who just shot 62. On the flip side there's no better motivation for a pro to go low than a fluke round of 75. Players on the cut line are also motivated to stick around for the weekend and get a paycheck so they may have several birdies in the bag as they look to get inside the cut line. And if you're really looking to go deep on strategy you can even take a look at your tee times and cross check them with the weather - afternoon wind and rain don't mix well with a 12:21 tee time.
So just remember - chasing is gambling but gambling can be fun.

The final sprint of the Winter Segment is about to begin with the start of the final 3 events. No matter where you are in the standings this will be a prime opportunity to make up ground as teams run out of starts with certain players. So if you're the only team to draft the winner that will leap frog you up the big board.
