Three Weeks - Three Winners; Spring Segment Enters Final Four Week Stretch

...And we're back!

After a brief hiatus of media coverage for the First Timers' League we're back in the saddle with plenty of updates to run through. Now that the Spring Segment is entering it's final stretch things are heating up in the segment race with some classic names making big waves.

Three weeks ago at The Players Championship Talkeetna98 took down his second tourney in a row and his first Players Champ title. He's having perhaps his best career segment so far and now leads the Spring by 27 points. He also leads the league in season earnings with $65 and it doesn't look like he's even close to being finished. With four weeks left in the segment he'll need to evaluate what starts to burn in order to secure the segment while still giving himself a chance to finish the season strong as he's now in the mix for the season title as well.

Two weeks ago the AT&T Byron Nelson was hosted by a new course on the Tour's rota as Trinity Forest in Dallas yielded a 23-under par onslaught from the winner. And no one took more advantage of this new venue than Putting With A Long Iron who won his second tourney of the season. He's having a career season and already doubled his number of career wins in just half a season. His stock is rapidly rising as he becomes a force during any given week but his consistency is still being worked out as his rank for the season is sub par, aka not good. However, his sixth place position for the Spring Segment is respectable but at over 200 points back from the leader he'd have to put on quite the show over the final four weeks to be a threat.

And last week, the tried and true veteran Darth Fader returns to the winner's circle with a resounding win at Colonial CC and the Forth Worth Invitational. Darth is trying to make his way back into the mix for the season as he currently holds down 9th place. He's in 9th place for the segment and pretty much out of that race but will focus on managing his team for the big finish in Sept. He pads his fantasy bank account with 0.0027 more bitcoins for a total of $40 earnings.

Race for the Spring Segment

This one's shaping up to be a showdown. Two vets are going toe to toe right now as Talkeetna98 is trying to claim his first ever Segment Championship while Driving Miss Daisy is on a career hot streak. Talkeetna has been close only once before when he finished the 2016 Winter Segment in 3rd. He knows what's on the line here and has the experience to close. Over the next four weeks he'll be tested like he's never been tested before as Miss Daisy is playing some of the best fantasy golf of her career. Of the last six tournaments she's finished top 10 in all of them and 4 of them were top 3s. And her last was her highest finish - runner up. Could a win be next up?

THIS WEEK is a special week on the Tour's calendar. None of than the legend himself - Jack Nicklaus -will play host to the boys of summer as The Memorial and Muirfield Village takes center stage. Kings Deer is the defending champ this week as he returns to defend the only title of his young career to date. With another $20 on the line and valuable season points at stake there is no time to waste and fragile starts to burn.
