Last week in the Farmers Insurance Open it was Night Putting who charged to an early season win. Fielding all 8 players for at least one round of the tournament he wheeled and dealed each round with haphazard results yet managed to out gun Buddy the Bull by just 4 points, the closest margin of victory so far. K.J. Choi provided the fire power during the last three rounds for Night Putting as the competition steadily gave ground.
The temptation to throw Tiger in the mix proved too much for many as 7 of 12 teams thought Tiger would have a spectacular season opener. And he didn't disappoint - a third round 79 was pretty spectacular.
This week the classy Waste Management Pheonix Open kicks off in the desert at TPC Scottsdale. As the field continues to spread and points get harder to come by, playing the statistics will be even more crucial.
Notables: The artist formerly known as Phish Styxs will now be known as Kill'n Tasty Bitches - an homage to Elmo Blatch, the twitchy mother fucker from Shawshank Redemption. Well played. And struggling to field players who've actually entered the tournament is Lafferty Daniel & Gilmore Happy - finishing with an embarrassing 2 points last week. Let's hope his players actually put on their spikes this week.
