In just three career starts the young phenom from the nation's heartland has shown the fantasy world that she is indeed more than just a pretty face. She sent four good men into the trenches on Thursday and never wavered once, standing by her men through all four rounds. With a roster of three Americans and one Korean she meticulously stalked her prey, carding low rounds each day and taking the lead in the early going. By Saturday night ByeBye Birdie was in control but her mettle would be thoroughly tested on Sunday as she stared the 54 hole lead right in the face - a recipe that does not often yield a good night's sleep. But as her competition slowly faded from view on the Stadium Course's back nine ByeBye Birdie kept hitting fairways and greens, never taking her foot off the gas as she raced across the finish line for her first career fantasy championship! ByeBye is the first rookie to win in 2020 and starts her fantasy savings account early with a $20 deposit. By her own account though she's not in it for the money (it's hard to make a living on fantasy tour after all) as glory alone is what she seeks. She'll have plenty more opportunities as she's crept up the leaderboard into 11th place and into the hearts and minds of fantasy golf fans everywhere. Congrats ByeBye Birdie.
Top-Three Finishers
It's no surprise that second place finisher Kikakee Tees hasn't wasted much time in tracking down a Top 3 finish. As 2018 3rd place finisher, Kikakee seems to have picked up where he left off as his 14.9% Top 3 finish rate (8th all-time) would indicate. He trailed ByeBye heading into Sunday's final round but couldn't pick up the needed points from Matt Wolff to close the gap. He'll settle for valuable points though as he moves up the leaderboard and into second place. It's his second Top 10 so far and first Top 3.
On Point had a big week as the league rookie took down her highest finish to date with a third place position at The American Express. She's been biding her time over the first three weeks and has managed to improve her position each time. On Point is showing significant promise now as she's whittled her way into 4th place overall and has the Vegas odds makers taking a second look at the rookie. Time will tell if On Point can live up to her name as the segment rolls on.

GreenJacket reportedly fired his swing coach after the season opener and it seems to be paying off. He's bested his previous week in two strait events and had his highest finish with a 4th place finish at La Quinta. GreenJacket is starting to show promise but it'll take consistent range sessions if the first year stud out of Denver is going to make a name for himself on fantasy tour.
Sixth year veteran Show & Dough made her first appearance inside the Top 10 as she looks to crawl her way back up the leader board. After a slow start she finds herself in 21st place after this 5th place finish but you can't argue with progress. The Show has struggled in years past to maintain momentum but it's a new decade so maybe she's found her swing. The golf season hasn't quite hit Chicago yet so perhaps she's just waiting for the warmth of spring.
Rookie Nick Hoffman is a perfect 3-for-3 in Top 10s so far this season as he snags the 6th position at The American Express. Hoffman maintains his top spot for the season and keeps adding points to his total as he's certainly in this one for the long haul. His strategy will be tested as he'll inevitably face the question of being aggressive with draft picks or just toeing the company line with the expert picks. He'll look to make it a perfect 4-for-4 at Torrey Pines this week.
Where Eagles Dare is making waves with his second Top 10 in a row and now shares the 7th position overall. Eagle's main issue in years passed is sustaining a charge and with a 29.1% Top 10 finish rate (28th) he'll need to keep doing what he's doing to overcome past trends.
Kings Deer picks up his second Top 10 with an 8th place finish. Early indications seem to show that the King isn't having any hangover effect from his segment championship in 2019 and will continue to press his claim to future titles. His 43.3% career Top 10 finish rate is solid but it'll be tough to crack last year's 63% mark. It's the outlier finishes of 20th or lower that he'll need to avoid this year to be in the hunt come August.
DaHoffa snags his second Top 10 in a row with an 8th place finish last week and now sits comfortably in 6th place overall. This was no tournament to go rouge and DaHoffa played it smart by not going off the reservation and trying to find the dark horse. After finishing the previous two years in 8th place he's trending in the right direction as he looks to sail north of that come August.
After his near miss and second place finish last week Vegas Vito follows it up with another Top 10 with a 10th place finish. Tied 7th overall, his strategy seems to be a mix of dark horses and journeymen as the 7th year pro has fielded rosters that stray from the mainstream significantly. Time will tell if this strategy can be maintained but so far so good. He'll just need to make sure no more than two of his dark horses miss the cut each week so he's got a full roster for the weekend.

A quick look at the payout structure for 2020 will show that more money is being divvied out during the season than ever before. Individual payouts for tournaments have increased and so the value of winning a single tournament has significantly risen. Winning a major alone will pocket you $50.
Smaller market tournaments will award the winner $20 while slightly bigger market tournaments will hand out $25 to the champ. Then comes the WGCs and Players Championship which have a payday of $30 to the winner and $5 to the runner up. The majors are the ones to watch out for though as $50 to the winner will cover your dues and a $10 check to second place can nicely pad your season earnings.
Segment winners (winter, spring, summer) will take a tidy sum of $50 home so make sure you're not giving up on those tournaments you don't have a chance to win - every point counts in the end.
And then as the season draws to a close there will be a fight for final position as payouts will be awarded to the top 5 finishers.

It's a favorite track of Tiger's and it's no surprise he's decided to start his season out here yet again. To pick Tiger or not to pick Tiger - that is the question. There's plenty of other talent in the field this week so expect rosters to be spread out somewhat. Kings Deer is the defending champ this week as he took down the first of his 4 tournaments last year so expect him to put up a good showing yet again. It's a full field with a 36 hole cut on Friday night so expect some good weekend golf with a few studs in the mix on the back nine on Sunday.
