Heaven Can Wait as Fairway Comes Back to Life - Wins at Greenbrier

Welcome back to the winners circle Fairway to Heaven. It had been 8 long weeks for the Winter Segment's 3rd place finisher since he last got a win but after a grinding tournament he was able to edge out Night Putting by just 7 points. Fairway's squad was led by Brendon Todd as he continued his hot streak with a 4th place finish and accumulated 32 points for the team.Fairway played Parcheesi with his lineup making substitutions in each round. He was able to garner the 5 bonus points from Web Simpson's 3rd place finish but only started him in the first round. A bold move as both Night Putting and Fairway would miss his low round of the day -7 on Sunday. But it was not needed in the end and Fairway is now tied for the lead in top 3 finishes with 11 and has notched 4 wins on the season. He now looks to maintain this pace as he fixes his gaze on the Summer Segment Championship.

Night Putting is looking to be in top form as he racked up his 2nd top 3 in the first two tournaments of the summer. He battled throughout but made the crucial mistake of keeping Web on the bench throughout which cost him 25 Sunday points and the victory. There's no changing that now though as Night Putting looks to continue his torrid pace of play as the summer rolls on.

Rounding out the top 3 was Freeside Links as he was the only team besides the winner to not have his score dropped. Scoring 112 points he was 15 points behind the winner and 13 points ahead of the 4th place finisher. Freeside also racked up his 11th top 3 finish and is tied at the top in that category. He only has 1 win to accompany this feat however but perhaps better times beckon in July and August.

The field struggled last week as scores were pretty low across the board. All scores were dropped except for Freeside and Fairway's. Teams are hoping this score remains their lowest as no one wants to dip below this one. The Greenbrier is in the books and The John Deere Classic looms large on the horizon. Teams will have one last tune up before the season's next big test in the Open Championship the following week. Every week counts now as teams vie for both the segment championship and the coveted season championship. The home stretch is well underway.
